When I last left you, I shared my experience, my first experience in ordering a share of beef. I received my 1/4 share on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025. Halfway through our 1/4 share, I realized that this was not going to last us like I had hoped. Knowing the amount of meat left and doing some meal planning, I calculated that by August 8th, 2025, I would be out of beef. You must be thinking, Wow, that’s a lot of beef to go through. 79 days of eating beef 2 to 3 times a day and on the 80th day, my husband and I would be back to eating turkey and chicken. Don’t get me wrong, I like turkey and chicken, but we were just feeling so good! My joints were no longer hurting, the occasional leg/toe cramps had stopped and I had stopped taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen. Then there was this light at the end of this tunnel (this is where the angels sing and my black and white movie is now in technicolor). I received an email from a ranch that picked my name for 10 pounds of free ground beef. I could hardly believe that I had won something! I never win anything, but there it was in black and white: I had won 10 pounds of ground beef. Everyone has a gimmick these days to try and get you to buy. What was this ranch’s gimmick? Get 10 pounds of ground beef when you order this or that? I was skeptical. I am happy to report that there was no gimmick, no hook, no bait, just beef. I was so excited! Okay, enough already with the waiting for the ranch. I won 10 pounds of ground beef from T Bar J Ranch, located in Montana. I will get to telling you about the owners and put a link to their website. However, let’s talk about my experience.
Delivery and Initial Impressions
My ground beef was shipped via UPS and was delivered on August 14th, 2025. The packaging was done well. The dry ice was depleted; however, the meat was frozen solid. There were a few surprises 😃. Beef sticks, honey, a baseball hat (which my husband confiscated for himself).
Taste
The ground beef taste was so good! I was again happy that I had fresh beef in my freezer.
Let us get to the fun stuff: beef sticks and honey. I thought I would not like the beef sticks because it seemed in my mind that processed would not be good. After all, I was going with my experience from those gas station Slim Jims, which are a mouthful of grease. 🤮 However, these were absolutely incredible. They come in two flavors: classic beef and jalapeño cheese. The first bite was dense like biting into a hearty steak, making me crave another bite. The flavor was savory. I highly recommend them. Now for the honey. All honey is tasty. I have never had a bad honey (well, my first marriage, but that’s for another blog). I was quite excited to taste what T Bar J Ranch had to offer. Honey is like a fine wine; one should be able to taste the subtle notes from a lavender flower or an orange blossom. Placing the honey in and pressing it up against the roof of my mouth, I could not detect one of the flavors. It was new to me. When I spoke with Amber, she said it was the alfalfa. Now I know and I am hooked! T Bar J Ranch’s honey will give a great added flavor to my honey bourbon steak tips!
Final Thoughts
I found all the products to be outstanding. Amber was phenomenal! She was keeping me informed from when the product was going to be shipped, checking to see that it arrived when the tracking stated it had been delivered, and checking to see my satisfaction with her products. With my experience, I will say that T Bar J Ranch is true to their claims on their website. I definitely recommend them!
